Youth4Regions is a programme addressed to young journalists and journalism’ students from 18 to 30 years old. Developed by the Region and Urban General Direction of the Commission, the aim is to raise awareness among youngers about the regional policies of the Commission, encouraging young journalist to cover the projects co-financed by the European Regional Development Fund and the Cohesion Fund.
To get involved, interested journalist needed to send a brief article or a video of 2-3 minutes about one of the project of the European Regional Development Fund and Cohesion Fund. The topics could be summarized as follow:
- Fair Europe: Cohesion policy for a just transition to climate neutrality;
- Green Europe: Cohesion policy for intermodal mobility;
- Cohesion for Recovery: Overcoming the pandemic together;
- Europe close to the citizens: Youth engagement.
While the deadline for this year has already passed, we want to highlight this project and the attention devoted by the European Union to its subnational units. This is a great occasion for those interested to discover other European regions or let their own one shine to others as it does to locals.
The selected candidates will be entitled to participate to the EU Region’s Week in Brussels from 10 to 15 October in which they will follow journalism’ courses with experts and visit the EU Institutions. Moreover, participants will receive certificate of participation and could participate in the competition for the Megalizzi – Niedzielski Prize for aspiring journalists.
This is an illustration of how to get involved into European life. Try and take advantage of the opportunities offered by the EU Institutions!
