A Day in A British University

I am Cristina, an ex-pat living in the exciting metropolis of London and a final-year Business & Marketing student at Anglia Ruskin University. My days are anything but dull, so buckle up for some great insights into my London student life!

My courses start at 10 am, so I can sleep in a bit (only till 8 am), get ready, and
leave my house just after 9 am. The first stop is Costa Coffee for that much-
needed caffeine (I love a flat white). Then I take the underground (a round
trip is £10) and arrive at Farringdon in just over 45 minutes, where my Uni is located.

Here at the Anglia Ruskin campus, we have a multicultural community of students
worldwide (my colleagues are Italians, Romanians, Albanians, Bulgarian, Iranian, Portuguese, and a few British). It really broadens your cultural experience, kind of like a miniature
United Nations. We learn exciting things about the world of branding and advertising,
business and strategy, law, and human resources. All these courses are amazing and full of
insights into the real world, and I am proud to say I am a top achiever! After the morning class comes a well-deserved lunch, and Farrington is not lacking in places
where you can eat and indulge. From little cafes to posh restaurants, food markets, plenty
of good pubs, and even an onsite cafeteria (where you can bring a packed lunch), you will find your favorite place to eat and indulge in a festival of international cuisine without a doubt!

I do love a falafel wrap (and it is only £5.99)!

The afternoons are split between more courses, participating in workshops, doing group projects (I do love a bit of teamwork!), and using the fantastic resources available at Anglia Ruskin, the library, or the lab where you can unleash your creativity and ace those tasks.

We are normally finished with our day by 5 pm, just in time to catch the train before rush
hour or maybe head into town for a fun night out (we do have a beer at the local
Wetherspoons on a Friday after classes). It is needed to socialize too, and not just study and,
honestly, London evenings are a delight! You could find yourself going to a West End
performance with your pals, getting lost in Shoreditch’s eccentric alleyways, or just
unwinding in one of the lovely parks and taking in the splendor of this amazing city.
You have a sense of satisfaction and success as the day comes to an end. Your life has been
genuinely changed by studying marketing at Anglia Ruskin and living in London. It is the ideal
ex-pat life you have always imagined: embracing new cultures, making lifetime friends, and developing your marketing skills.

I continue to live each day to the fullest with an adventurous spirit and a great desire to
learn. With Anglia Ruskin University as my pillar, I am well on my way to making my mark in the fascinating marketing field. This stunning city has lots more in store for you too. I love my expat student London life!
